Villagers, the new album from Califone, is out now. Villagers is the latest and greatest addition to Califone's excellent albums. Folk songwriting is disassembled ands then reconstructed with warbly synths, loops, tape hiss, horns and field recordings. It's a terrifically executed album and richly rewards repeat listening.
